Scottish Liberal Democrats have asked the Cabinet Secretary for Parliamentary Business for time to be made available in the Scottish Parliament tomorrow for an urgent statement by the First Minister
following revelations at the Leveson Inquiry that he offered to lobby Jeremy Hunt over BSkyB deal.

Commenting, Mr Rennie said:

"The First Minister must come to the Scottish Parliament to explain his actions.

"His dealings with the rich and powerful besmirch the office of First Minister and call into question the integrity of his government.

"Scotland deserves to know exactly what was promised to Murdoch and what the First Minister got in exchange."
