Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP and leader of the Scottish Liberal Democrats at Glasgow City Council, Councillor Paul Coleshill have urged the Labour group at Glasgow City Council to urgently explain its decision to start closure proceedings on five of the city's Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB).

Commenting, Mr Rennie said:

"Citizens Advice Bureaux provide pillars of support for communities, helping people cope, especially at difficult times in their lives.

"People need this sort of support more than ever and so the closure of five of these offices in Glasgow will be a huge blow."

Commenting, Councillor Coleshill added:

"The Labour Administration need to urgently explain why they have to come the decision to shut five of our city's CAB offices. They need to tell us how they will continue to support the communities that are losing this vital service."
