Willie Rennie MSPWillie Rennie MSPGordon Wilson has called the Scottish Government's consultation on equal marriage as an "attack on marriage".

Commenting, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP said:

"The SNP Government must stand up to threats from the Catholic Church, but it is equally important that it stands up to forces opposed to progress from within the SNP.

"I can't understand those who want a fair and equal Scotland but deprive it to some just because they have a different sexual orientation.

"Same sex marriage is supported by the majority of Scots, it is a cause worth fighting for, and I will continue to fight its corner no matter where the opposition comes from."
