Commenting on PricewaterhouseCoopers warning that cutting corporation tax to Irish levels could be extremely complex, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP said:

"The SNP need to explain how they would fill the £2.6billion black hole in their finances created by slashing Corporation Tax rates to Irish levels.

"At a time when finances are tight, as a result of the financial crisis, this reckless policy could cripple public services in Scotland.

"With independence closer than ever, the sooner the SNP explain the truth about the costs of splitting Scotland from the UK family, the sooner we will be able to have a mature debate about Scotland's future."
