Full suspension of Doorstep sales needed in Scotland - McArthur

Commenting on the news that Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) have suspended doorstep sales with immediate effect, Liberal Democrat Energy spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP said:

"This is a sensible step for SSE to be taking and I welcome the move in this direction.

"There have been far too many instances in the past where sales techniques used by companies on doorsteps have fallen far short of what is acceptable practice.

"The only way that we will see an end to this situation is if we see a full suspension, right across the board, of commission based doorstep sales in Scotland. I urge other companies to follow SSE's example."
