Commenting on the Church of Scotland's concerns over rushing the Sectarianism Bill through the Scottish Parliament, Liberal Democrat Justice spokesperson Alison McInnes MSP said:

"We are very clear that sectarianism has no place in Scottish society. But we have real concerns over how this new legislation is being rushed through Parliament.

"Introducing two new offences without taking time to properly consider the proposals, take expert evidence or ensure that these new offences would not have unintended consequences is just plain wrong."
