Productive talks at NCR today

Dundee LibDem councillors Fraser Macpherson and Helen Dick tonight (Monday 15th January) said that the talks earlier today with Nicol Stephen on the NCR situation were productive and positive.

Cllr Macpherson said, "I am pleased that Nicol Stephen visited NCR so soon after last week's devastating news and what was clear from the all-party meeting at lunchtime today was that everyone - whatever their political persuasion - was willing to work together for the NCR workers.

"Nicol gave very specific assurances in terms of the Executive's commitment to ensure that the 650 NCR workers are found new employment. This is a time for party politics to be cast aside; we owe it to the NCR workers to make sure that resources and effort is made to find alternative employment for all."
