Dundee LibDems today (Thursday 19th March) agreed with the Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader, Tavish Scott MSP, in his criticism of Alex Salmond's "rehashing, reheating and recycling" economic plan.

Commenting after the First Minister's speech to the national economic forum yesterday,Tavish Scott said, "The Scottish Government's response to today's news that more Scots are out of work was to rehash, reheat and recycle what they are already doing.

"People losing their jobs and worrying about their future want a concrete plan.

"Our Government should concentrate on a new economic beginning in Scotland, rather than patting themselves on the back.

"A good start would be telling local authorities how much money is available for school building, a key concession secured by the Liberal Democrats during the Budget process."

Here in Dundee, LibDem Council Group Leader, Cllr Fraser Macpherson, added, "The Labour/Liberal Democrat administration on the City Council has taken great steps to further improve Dundee's school estate using all means left after the SNP withdrew PPP funding and failed to provide anything in its place.

"It is vital Scottish Government comes up with its promises on school building funding made during the budget process to allow local authorities like Dundee City Council to move forward with further school buildings projects."
