Dundee Liberal Democrats agree : Salmond should ditch Independence Bill
Dundee LibDems today (Saturday 14th February) agreed with comments by LibDem Scottish Leader Tavish Scott that the SNP government should ditch its doomed Independence Bill.
Commenting after challenging Alex Salmond at First Minister's Questions to ditch his Independence Bill, Tavish Scott said, "We need action on recession not rhetoric on secession.
"The First Minister should follow his new Salmond Rule of Government. It says you can abandon any promise, however solemn, as long as you have a long enough list of people to blame.
"This week, the First Minister got his priorities wrong. Instead of appointing a Minister for Independence, he should have appointed a Minister for Economic Recovery.
"He can drop the Independence Bill. And he can put my name on the list of people to blame."
Here in Dundee, LibDem Council Group Leader, Cllr Fraser Macpherson, added, "The SNP should dump the separation diversion. It is of no benefit to the people of Scotland."
