Dundee LibDems welcome Scottish Liberal Democrat by-election triumph

Dundee LibDems today (Friday 5th October) welcomed news that the party won yesterday's Helensburgh and Lomond South by-election on Argyll and Bute Council.

The by-election follows the death of independent councillor, Ronald Kinloch and it saw the Liberal Democrat candidate Andrew Nisbet win comfortably with the Conservatives beaten into second place and the SNP coming last.

Commenting on the election outcome, Leader of the Scottish LibDems Nicol Stephen MSP, said: "This is a great victory. The Liberal Democrats are on the move across Scotland. If an election is called next week there could not be a better start to our campaign."

Here in Dundee, Chris Hall, Liberal Democrat candidate at the forthcoming Lochee Ward by-election, said, "This is a great result for the Scottish Liberal Democrats. It augers well for the Lochee campaign."
