West End Councillor slams irresponsible fly-posting

Newly re-elected West End Councillor Fraser Macpherson today slammed the Solidarity Party for its "irresponsible actions" in flyposting dozens of utilities boxes in the West End and across the City during the recent elections to advertise their election campaign, with absolutely no permission or authority to do so.
Cllr Macpherson said, "The City Council reached agreement with Virgin Media recently to start to get graffiti taken off lots of these boxes and it is irresponsible of this political party to undo all this work by flyposting utility boxes. There are literally dozens of them flyposted and I have been inundated with complaints from residents about it. There are many in the West End - but it is much wider and right across the City.
"I have contacted the City Council's Head of Waste Management and have asked him to ensure that this party is written to and given the opportunity to remove its flyposting. If it fails to do so, my suggestion is that the Council undertakes the work and sends them the bill for the cost of the work. It is highly irresponsible, detracts from the amenity of local residents and I trust that this party will act more responsibly in future," concluded Cllr Macpherson.
