Allan Petrie highlights concerns about SNP "dubious assumptions and unexplained assertions"

Dundee LibDems have today (Saturday 10th February) supported comments by respected academic Professor Arthur Midwinter that the SNP's "Scotland in Surplus" document is based on £4.5 billion of "dubious assumptions and unexplained assertions".

Scottish LibDem Deputy Finance Minister George Lyon MSP commented, "You don't need to be a top economist to work out the SNP sums don't add up, but it helps."

Locally, here in Dundee, LibDem spokesperson and former SNP councillor Allan Petrie said, "The SNP's spending pledges just do not add up. You cannot take their 'promises' seriously."

Additionally Gordon LibDem MSP Nora Radcliffe has criticised SNP leader Alex Salmond over his 'divided loyalties'.

Mrs Radcliffe said, "If Mr Salmond is serious about wanting to be in the Scottish Parliament then I challenge him to prove it and resign his House of Commons seat.

"The people of Gordon deserve a full-time MSP to stand up for them, not a part-timer with split loyalties".
