Liberal Democrats are Dundee's growing party
Dundee LibDem local party secretary Michael Charlton today (Friday 7th April) has commented that David Cameron's admission to the Conservative Spring conference in Manchester that his party has a "huge mountain to climb" in the inner cities "sums up" the mess the Tories are in.
Michael said, "In the 2003 election in Dundee West, the Tories came a staggeringly humiliating sixth. The LibDems are the growing party in Dundee."
Nationally, LibDem UK President Simon Hughes said, "Mr Cameron's acknowledgement that the Tories have a huge mountain to climb underestimates the task ahead. Their sudden discovery that our cities need more affordable housing, a general improvement in schools, less crime and more local control, is only the first step. Delivering for our cities means putting forward real policies - something that we are yet to see from David Cameron."
