Clive Sneddon welcomes election of Sir Menzies Campbell as Liberal Democrat Leader
Dundee East Liberal Democrat parliamentary spokesperson Dr Clive Sneddon today (Friday 3rd March) added his congratulations to Sir Menzies Campbell on his election as Leader of the Liberal Democrats.
Clive said, "On a personal note, I have known Ming for many years, and know that he is a hard-working and effective constituency MP, who inspires widespread affection and devotion.
"On the national and international stage, he has already shown his authority, principled convictions and judgement. Those who say they do not know much about him will soon discover that all Ming's qualities will now be applied across the board, and that the country will benefit from a serious political debate on the way forward.
"The Liberal Democrats have through the election of Ming Campbell shown that they are serious about achieving influence in Westminster and Whitehall, and I believe that the public at large, as the Dunfermline by-election has shown, is ready to support Liberal Democrat policies throughout the UK," concluded Clive.
